The album Mo Thìr | My Land is a deeply personal collection of songs that explores the cultural heritage of the island of Islay and the wider Gaelic community. The work is built on the interwoven threads of centuries-old traditions and the author’s personal experiences: the tracklist includes both traditional compositions passed down through generations and original material, including a song based on the words of the Islay bard William Livingstone and a piece inspired by a family story. Musically and lyrically, the album focuses on universal and timeless themes: love, loss, forced emigration, and the search for belonging. This conceptual Gaelic Folk project, created in close collaboration with guest musicians, aims not only to preserve the historical memory of the region but also to continue the living singing tradition of the Scottish islands.
