Recorded in 2022/23 and previously released as a mini-album and an EP, Nowhere Man is the sound of Oliver Flanagan returning to home recording after a 10 year hiatus. The title track is a postmodern deconstruction of a famous Beatles tune. Tiny Bird is out and out, unashamed Jangle Pop. Eight Arms To Hold You is another Beatles pastiche and R Stevie Moore pays tribute to the Godfather Of Home Recording, R. Stevie Moore. The album ends with 2 tracks, Goodbye Everybody and If You Call My Number that recall the harmonic sophistication of 1970s Todd Rundgren. Nowhere Man embraces a lo-fi aesthetic and it’s the strength of the songs and the enthusiasm in the performances that make this album work.
